It's nice to report a positive side to a story once in a while.
Two DJs in Houston who were fired from their station in July were just hired back to host the station's morning show. The station is flipping from all gospel to all news.

Ted Williams and his golden voice
![]() |
| Time to start believing those signs? |
You probably saw this on the Today show this morning, or will hear about it by a co-worker or friend by tonight.
Here's the original video from the Columbus Dispatch reporter who found Ted Williams... the homeless man with the golden voice. Let's hope he can stay off the crack and booze and be a success once again.
Two famous radio hosts who have had addiction issues and are doing just fine:

What Juan Williams Said...
...that got him fired.
We didn't hear this live, but according to industry publication Radio Ink Magazine, Williams said the following on The O'Reilly Factor:
For an insider's view of the Juan Williams firing, here's some insight from one of our local NPR guys, Colin McEnroe.
What's your take on the situation? Is this one radio voice that shouldn't have been kicked off the air so abruptly?

"When I get on the plane ... if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."I wonder if Williams got worried and nervous as soon as those words left his mouth, thinking he might get fired for uttering them.

Quiet Thunder
We received several reports from the Twin Cities today about a missing DJ, but this one from a reader named Mary had the most details:
We'll keep you posted as we learn more, or maybe even get Greg to check in and share his whereabouts with you directly.... Stay tuned!
"Greg Thunder" of the Greg and Melissa morning show on KS95 in Minneapolis/St. Paul was suspiciously absent today. Occasionally they'd mention of a DJ is sick or out and they didn't even mention his name today. They have a producer named Trey that has been talking on air more and more lately, and the last few weeks they've been calling the show "The Greg, Melissa, and Trey Show" rather than just Greg & Melissa. Then today, they were calling the show "The KS95 Morning Show" and not mentioning his name. This is the SAME THING they did a few years ago when Cheryl Kaye was booted from the show. I miss him! If anything, they should have gotten rid of the obnoxious guy named "Moon" from the Moon & Staci afternoon/evening show!Mary (and anyone else who is reading this), let me tell you what we've heard about Greg Thunder. According to a couple of industry trade magazines today, Greg Thunder quit the radio station for another job in a bigger market... In other words, he's moving on up and the new gig is still a secret - either as they work out the contract kinks or until Thunder's new station fires the guy he's replacing.
What happened to Greg??
We'll keep you posted as we learn more, or maybe even get Greg to check in and share his whereabouts with you directly.... Stay tuned!

New Zealand DJs Mess Up Too
A report from CNN this morning about a radio DJ who called the country's governor general a "fat Indian" is refreshing because it shows that our on-air personalities in the US aren't the only jocks that put their feet in their mouths from time to time.
