An Early Christmas in Kansas City

Listeners in KC (MO) are reporting that Z95.7 is no longer "Kansas City's Hit Music Station!"

As of yesterday, the station started calling itself Jingle 95.7 and playing all Christmas music. Their website promises "all christmas all year long" and suggests you tune it at 5pm Thursday (11/3/05) for "gifts from santa", which I think means "tune in to find out what the fuck happened to our radio station".

Okayyyy, after less than a week since it started calling itself "Jingle" right after Halloween, 95.7 FM is no longer playing all Christmas music. It is now calling itself "95.7 The Vibe. The Beat of Kansas City" and playing Rhythmic CHR.

Rhythmic CHR is radio jargon for "a mix of Contemporary Hit, Urban and Dance music.".

Tune in next week for something completely different.
