Old Man River turns into Internet Stream

Yes, I'm proud of myself for that catchy headline.

Anyway, the Philadelphia Inquirer has reported that Hy Lit - one of the first Rock and Roll DJs EVER - has resigned from his 7 to 9 p.m. shift at Phili's 98.1 WOGL. The stations website makes no mention of his leaving to run an Internet radio station with his son, or of the lawsuit. Lawsuit? The 71 year old legend is supposedly involved in an age-discrimination lawsuit against the station.

His quote on the subject: "Radio is habit-forming. Fifty-one years. I would go on forever. I'm Old Man River." Hence, my title choice for this post.

Get your Hy Lit fix here at his streaming oldies site.
