1080 Drops Vicevich

I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but a local DJ being fired has brought me back.

The Hartford Courant reported this morning that the guy on WTIC AM 1080 - heard after the Ray and Diane show (that no longer features Diane) and before Rush - will no longer be heard.

The guy's name is Jim Vicevich, and that's pretty much all I'm going to say about him.

If you really liked listening to him, it appears he will still appear on the local Fox station in the a.m. as a regular on Fox 61 Morning News.

No surprise there.

Now, for our old feature: Three things about Hartford...

It is home of the Mark Twain House

It has a marathon

It has a pretty good local beer

Just turned on 1080 and heard a familiar voice, that of Joe Sebastian... on again off again host of FM's 106.9 WCCC.

Anyway, according to his facebook page, Sebastian is apparently doing a one-week on-air job interview, and for the five minutes I heard him he was awesome.

He sounded jazzed to be there, energetic, coherent, and was on topic - discussing adoption and sports.

I heard him too, after turning off NPR because they were begging me for money again.

I almost didn't recognize his voice, but then I realized it was sebastin.
Hope he stays on 1080!
